ATLANTA (AP) — Atlanta Braves utility infielder Reid Brignac has been designated for assignment and third baseman Adonis Garcia has been recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Garcia began the season as the starting third baseman and also started four games in left field before he was optioned to Gwinnett on May 7. Garcia hit .356 with four homers and 18 RBIs at Gwinnett after hitting .260 with one homer with Atlanta.

Garcia was not listed in the lineup posted by the Braves for Friday night's game against Miami. Chase D'Arnaud is starting at third base and Jeff Francoeur is in left field.

Brignac hit .207 in only 29 at-bats with Atlanta while playing third base and second base.
