MONTICELLO, Ark. (AP) — Court records allege an Arkansas woman accused in a murder-for-hire plot wanted her husband and his ex-wife killed so she could inherit his business and receive his life insurance policy.

Stephanie Rogers is the wife of former Monticello Mayor Joe Rogers. Records indicate the 48-year-old was jailed Monday on charges of capital murder conspiracy and solicitation. Her bond is $500,000. The records don't indicate if she has an attorney.

Rogers was arrested last week following an investigation that began when an informant told authorities Rogers had approached her about hiring someone to kill her husband's ex-wife, Debbie Rogers.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that Stephanie Rogers wanted Debbie Rogers killed to inherit Joe Rogers' business, and wanted her husband killed to receive his life insurance policy and control of his business.
