WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — Police in West Valley City say they're searching for a man who stole a squad car after officers responded to a report of a disturbance.
Salt Lake City TV station KSL reports that police were called to a home about 6 a.m. Sunday and encountered a man who told them that the officers should go inside the home where a disturbance was going on.
The man then drove off in the officers' squad car.
Police recovered the vehicle about 10 minutes later at a nearby park but the man had already fled on foot.
No firearms were inside the squad car and nothing from the vehicle was stolen.
Police say they believe the man isn't armed.
