INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Federal prosecutors have appealed a judge's decision to allow a former Indianapolis high school boys' basketball coach to live with his parents while he faces charges that he enticed a 15-year-old girl into a sexual relationship.
The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/1TRZocr ) that the motion asks a federal judge to revoke Monday's order by a magistrate to release 31-year-old Kyle Cox to his parents under electronic monitoring. Prosecutors argue Cox persuaded the Park Tudor School student to send him explicit text messages then had other students at the school "trash her reputation."
The motion describes Cox as a sexual predator.
Cox was arrested Thursday and is charged with coercion and enticement. He remains jailed until the judge rules on the prosecutors' appeal. He resigned from the exclusive private school in December.
