CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — An inmate who escaped from the Canyon County Jail in Idaho a week ago has been arrested in Ontario, Oregon.
KBOI-TV reports (http://goo.gl/T2dWZb) that the Canyon County Sheriff's Office says Jose Esteban Coronado was arrested and taken to the Malheur County Jail Saturday morning.
Authorities say Coronado cut through the exterior wall of a tent housing unit and escaped a week ago. He had been jailed for violating a no contact order and a U.S. immigration detainer.
Sheriff Kieran Donahue says that Coronado is facing felony escape charges.
Several agencies including the U.S. Marshal Fugitive Task Force, Ontario Police Department and the Oregon State Police assisted in Coronado's arrest.
