RENTON, Wash. (AP) — The Seattle Seahawks have placed guard Jordan Simmons on injured reserve after he suffered a knee injury last week against San Francisco.

Seattle also signed rookie running back Bo Scarbrough off the Jacksonville practice squad Tuesday.

Coach Pete Carroll sounded ominous Monday when asked about Simmons, saying the knee injury was going to be an issue.

Simmons had played well in his three starts this season while filling in when D.J. Fluker was injured. Fluker's status for Sunday's game against Kansas City is in question due to a hamstring injury.

The signing of Scarbrough also raises questions about the health of Seattle's running backs. Rashaad Penny missed last week's game with a knee injury and Carroll has said it would be a few more days before the team determined his status for this week.

Scarbrough was a seventh-round pick out of Alabama by Dallas and he has spent the season on the Dallas and Jacksonville practice squads.
