Patriots announce signings of Brown, Long and McClellin

BOSTON (AP) — The New England Patriots announced the signings of veteran running back Donald Brown, defensive end Chris Long and linebacker Shea McClellin on Friday.

The 28-year-old Brown joins the Patriots after spending last season in San Diego. He was drafted 27th overall by Indianapolis in 2009 and has 2,829 rushing yards and 18 touchdowns. He also has a pair of receiving touchdowns.

Long has played eight NFL seasons, most recently with the Rams. The 30-year-old has played in 114 games with 95 starts and has 246 total tackles and 54 1/2 sacks.

The 26-year-old McClellin played four seasons with Chicago. He has 31 starts and has registered 161 total tackles and 7 1/2 sacks.
