TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — The Arizona Cardinals have elevated running back Kerwynn Williams from the practice squad and released tight end Joseph Fauria.

Before the move Saturday, the Cardinals were down to three running backs with Andre Ellington out with a sprained knee ligament.

Williams was brought up from the practice squad a year ago and appeared in six games. He was released by the Cardinals on Sept. 5 and signed to the practice squad the next day.

The Cardinals had signed Fauria last week after he was released by the Detroit Lions.

Arizona is at Chicago on Sunday.
