Trist, Ptasinski lead Lafayette past Wagner 98-84

EASTON, Pa. (AP) — Dan Trist scored 26 points and Joey Ptasinski added 20, hitting six 3-pointers, and Lafayette raced past Wagner 98-84 on Saturday.

The Leopards shot a blistering 64.2 percent, including 70 percent in the first half when they opened a 56-43 lead. Trist was 11 of 16 from the field and Ptasinski was 7 of 10.

Seth Hinrichs added 17 points, six rebounds and six assists.

The Seahawks (2-4) were led by Corey Hensen and Jo Jo Cooper with 16 apiece with Romone Saunders and Aaren Edmead adding 12.

Lafayette had a 12-0 run in the first half to get the lead to 15, thanks to back-to-back 3's by Ptasinski. The Leopards opened the second half with a Trist jumper and Ptasinski and Hinrich's 3s to make it 64-43.

The Leopards went 12 of 22 from 3-point range and 18 of 23 from the foul line.
