LISBON, Portugal (AP) — Sporting Lisbon manager Jorge Jesus was sent off late in his team's 1-0 win at Moreirense on Saturday that provisionally lifted it above Benfica and to the top of the Portuguese league on Saturday.

Islam Slimani netted what proved to be the winner in the 16th minute when Teo Gutierrez passed to Matias Schelotto, who then crossed the ball for the striker to score.

Jesus was sent off with around 15 minutes remaining for arguing with the referee.

Sporting moved one point above Benfica, which can recover the lead at Setubal on Monday.

Elsewhere, Estoril beat Boavista 1-0 thanks to Marion's goal in the 87th minute after he went on as a substitute four minutes before.

Rio Ave also drew at Arouca 0-0.
