DEL MAR, Calif. (AP) — Rusty Slipper won the $100,000 Red Carpet Stakes for fillies and mares by 1 1/2 lengths Saturday at Del Mar.

Ridden by Silvestre de Sousa, Rusty Slipper ran 1 3/8 miles on turf in 2:15.34 and paid $14.20, $6.40 and $4.60 for trainer Graham Motion.

Elektrum returned $4.40 and $3. Three Hearts was another 1 3/4 lengths back in third and paid $4.20 under Joe Talamo, who returned to riding a day after getting married Friday.

De Sousa, the current British champion rider from Brazil, was competing at Del Mar for the first time. He arrived from Aqueduct in New York, where he had been riding since the season ended in England.
