LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Vegas Golden Knights finally have some players to put on the desert ice this fall. They include Stanley Cup-winning goalie Marc-Andre Fleury, top-line winger James Neal and a slew of defensemen who have been selected in the NHL expansion draft. Golden Knights owner Bill Foley and general manager George McPhee announced their choices last night during the NHL's postseason awards show at T-Mobile Arena, where Vegas will begin play in the fall.

NEW YORK (AP) — Markelle Fultz and Lonzo Ball are expected to be the top two picks in tonight's NBA draft. Then the intrigue starts. The Boston Celtics have the No. 3 pick after trading with Philadelphia and will have plenty of options in what's considered a strong draft. That's one of the things to watch from Barclays Center, where the record for freshmen taken in the first round could fall.

UNDATED (AP) — Only five pitchers in major league history have thrown three or more no-hitters. Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander both got within range of joining them last night. Scherzer took a no-hitter into the eighth before the Marlins reached him for a pair of unearned runs in a 2-1 victory against Washington. Just hours later, the Tigers ace lost his bid for a perfect game when the Mariners scored three times in the sixth and four in the seventh to beat Detroit, 7-5.

BOSTON (AP) — Former Red Sox star David Ortiz is getting a street named in his honor in Boston, joining the bridge already named after him. A street near Fenway Park currently known as Yawkey Way Extension will be renamed David Ortiz Drive. Mayor Marty Walsh, Red Sox brass, Boston public school students and Big Papi himself are scheduled to attend a ceremony today. Ortiz retired last season after a 20-year major league career, including 14 years in Boston. The Red Sox are scheduled to retire his No. 34 on Friday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A U.S. Capitol Police officer injured while defending members of Congress at a baseball practice threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Congressional Women's Softball Game. Special Agent Crystal Griner threw out the ceremonial first pitch from her wheelchair last night, a week after a gunman opened fire on the Republican baseball team practice in northern Virginia, critically wounding Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana. Griner was shot in the ankle, but was allowed to leave the hospital for last night's game.
