LAS VEGAS (AP) — Race organizers are announcing logistical changes ahead of the Rock 'n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon in mid-November.

Competitor Group spokesman Dan Cruz said events ahead of the Nov. 15 race will include an expanded three-day health and fitness expo beginning Nov. 12 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

A 5-kilometer race that last year drew 5,000 runners could have 8,000 this year, starting and finishing late Nov. 14 at the Rock in Rio festival location on Las Vegas Boulevard at Sahara Avenue, across from the SLS Las Vegas.

A 6.5-mile half-of-the-half race will be run instead at a 6.2-mile 10-kilometer distance, beginning at the Rock in Rio site and ending at The Mirage on the Strip.

About 3,000 runners completed the marathon last year, and 25,000 finished the half-marathon.
