GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida is without two key offensive playmakers during spring practice.

Quarterback Treon Harris missed his second consecutive practice Friday following the shooting death of a family member in Miami, and receiver Brandon Powell has been shut down indefinitely after aggravating a previous foot injury.

Coach Jim McElwain says it's unclear when Harris will return, saying "sometimes it's time to sit back and reflect about the importance of family and what that truly means. He'll fight through it and we expect him back when the time is right."

Powell had foot surgery last spring, which included the insertion of a screw, and team doctors recently found a "hot spot." McElwain says "we're going to hold him from any contact, any scrimmage work" in hopes of not making the injury worse.
