CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Clemson starting linebacker Tre Lamar will miss the fourth-ranked Tigers regular-season finale with South Carolina on Saturday night with a back injury.

Clemson (10-1, No. 3 College Football Playoff) announced Lamar's status Friday as part of its weekly injury report.

Lamar had missed the win over Citadel last week because of the injury, which he sustained in a win over Florida State on Nov. 11.

The 6-foot-4, 250-pound sophomore from Roswell, Georgia, is fourth on the Tigers with 52 tackles. He also has four sacks, tied for fourth most on the team.

Chad Smith, a sophomore, is listed as Lamar's backup. But Smith has been dealing with a calf injury and is questionable to play against the Gamecocks (8-3).
