A West Jordan High School student was sentenced for sending naked pictures of himself on his cell phone to his girlfriend.

According to the Salt Lake Tribune, the 16-year-old lacrosse player admitted he sent the pictures to the girl. He also admitted to sending explicit text messages. Six students said they received the photos and text messages.

The judge told the teen to tell his peers that sending those kinds of pictures and messages is dangerous and a serious crime.

The teen was ordered to pay $600 in fines and to submit a DNA sample for a state database.

The judge suspended jail time.
