OGDEN, Utah (AP) — Weber County authorities say a 53-year-old jail inmate from Roy has died of an apparent suicide.

The Sheriff's Office says it will conduct an internal investigation and that the County Attorney's Office will review the death of Roger David Campbell, who was found unresponsive in his cell Wednesday morning.

A statement by the Sheriff's Office says nothing unusual was observed when a deputy checked on Campbell 10 minutes before he was found unresponsive and that Campbell had given no indication of being under duress.

Roy police picked up Campbell on warrants Sunday.

He faced charges accusing him of defrauding a Hooper woman and of making a purchase with a stolen credit card.
