SALT LAKE CITY -- Have you been fooled or fooled someone else on this April Fools' Day?
The pranking began early for Colby Anderson. His mom called and told him she was pregnant. She's in her late 40s. He bought it.
"That was pretty good. I don't think I can top that," he said.
Other young folks have been telling others they are engaged when they are not. Leandro Quatel says his fiancé's sister tricked them both.
"She holds her hand up and there's this beautiful ring. My fiancé starts screaming, ‘Ahhh, you're engaged, you're engaged!' and her sister puts the ring down and says, ‘No, April Fools.'"
One year Carter Bishop's sister called at 2 a.m. from the BYU Jerusalem Center saying they were being bombed. "My dad was pacing on the phone. My mom rolled over in bed and said, ‘Mark, who is it?' "It's Holly, she says they are being bombed.' Mom said, ‘Mark, it's April first, and it's Holly. Go back to bed.' Then my sister just started laughing on the phone," Bishop said.
Others have been pulling pranks around the house, including putting baby oil on door knobs, food coloring in the shower head, and toothpaste in Oreos.
