BRIGHAM CITY, Utah (AP) -- The father of a Utah girl who was abducted in 1982 has been charged with assault for allegedly driving his pickup into a building after becoming enraged over the death of a duck.

Jeffrey Stephen Runyan was charged Wednesday in 1st District Court with aggravated assault, criminal mischief and several other misdemeanor traffic offenses.

The 55-year-old was arrested Dec. 22 after allegedly driving his truck into the side of a dairy office, then threatening people inside the office.

Runyan's daughter Rachael was 3 years old when she was abducted from a Davis County playground in August 1982. Her body was found near a creek bed in Morgan County nearly a month later. No one was ever arrested in her death.
