SNOWVILLE, Box Elder County — A 3.1-magnitude earthquake was reported near Snowville in Box Elder County Thursday afternoon.

The epicenter occurred around 2:58 p.m., about 7.8 miles south-southwest of Snowville and about 45 miles west-northwest of Brigham City, according to the U.S. Geological Survey website.

The earthquake happened at a depth of 1.2 km.

There are no reports of any damage in the area.

Thursday's quake is one of more than 100 that have occurred this month between Utah and southern Idaho, according to the University of Utah Seismograph Stations.

At least 126 earthquakes have been located in the Utah region, with magnitudes ranging from 0.1 to 3.8, the organization in a social media post earlier on Thursday. The largest was on May 15, and located northwest of Montpelier, Idaho.
