CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- Cedar City will begin installing a high-speed communication network next month.

The network uses fiber-optic technology that provide an infrastructure for local companies to conduct business worldwide with little delay.

The $1.2 million cost will mostly be paid by the city. A state grant pitches in $400,000.

InterLinx Communications is doing the work for the city. The company has already installed networks in St. George and other parts of the state.
