SALT LAKE CITY — Two homes in the Salt Lake Valley were heavily damaged in separate fires early Wednesday, according to the Unified Fire Authority.
The homes were located in Herriman and Millcreek, and the fire authority said flames were reported at each within 11 minutes of each other. No injuries were reported in either fire.
Crews responded first to a home in Herriman near 13849 Pioneer Peak Circle. They arrived around 12:25 a.m. to find a home completely engulfed in flames, with the fire extending from the garage through the roof.
The people inside the home were able to safely evacuate, the authority said.

Just over an hour later, crews had contained the fire. The home was left extensively damaged and several cars were destroyed.
Crews responded to the second fire in Millcreek, near 3524 S. 1100 East, and found another fully engulfed home. Firefighters made an "aggressive" exterior attack, the fire authority said, and the flames were quickly extinguished.
Nobody was inside the home at the time of the Millcreek fire, the authority said.
The cause of both fires was under investigation as of later Wednesday morning.
