GRANTSVILLE — Search and rescue crews were searching for victims after a boat reportedly sank on Grantsville Reservoir Friday. The Tooele County Sheriff's Office confirmed Saturday that two people had died. One body was recovered Friday, and that person was identified as 60-year-old Paul Casity. The other victim's body was recovered Saturday, and that person was identified as 29-year-old Sam Ki. Both individuals were from West Jordan, the sheriff's office said. A canoe that the two victims were using was also recovered from the reservoir. The sheriff's office said the cause of the accident was still under investigation. North Tooele Fire District spokesperson and 103.5 The Arrow host Jon Smith told KSL NewsRadio the reservoir was closed to accommodate search and rescue efforts. Smith said multiple agencies were working together to search. The Grantsville Reservoir is a smaller reservoir in eastern Tooele County with a depth of about 150 feet. "Right now, we have two search and rescue teams out on rafts searching the reservoir in a grid pattern. We don't exactly know what we're looking for yet," Smith said. He added that the UHP would bring out a dive team and a drone to assist in the search. [gallery ids="767633,767634,767635"]
