HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say a 35-year-old man sought in an armed robbery of a Las Vegas-area casino cashier has been arrested in western New York near the Canada border.
Henderson city spokeswoman Michelle French said Wednesday that Damir Vucic (dah-MEER' VIEW'-kik) was taken into custody on Saturday by FBI and local police after Henderson detectives learned he visited family in the Buffalo, New York area.
Vucic is being held at the Erie County Holding Center in Buffalo pending extradition to Nevada on warrant charges of armed robbery, burglary and assault with a deadly weapon.
French says money stolen in the Sept. 25 robbery at the Resort Spa Casino was recovered.
Vucic is accused of approaching the cashier and threatening a worker with the gun before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.
