BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Boise man accused of cutting a stranger's throat with a razor in August pleaded not guilty Wednesday.
KTVB-TV (http://bit.ly/1PmvgSY ) reports that 28-year-old Anthony Reed Schmidt is charged with aggravated battery and use of a deadly weapon in commission of a crime.
According to law enforcement officials, over the summer the victim opened his front door to find a man standing outside. The man pulled out a razor, slashed the victim's throat and ran away to a car.
The victim told police that he had never seen the attacker before.
Ada County Sheriff's deputies say Schmidt targeted the victim after talking to a mutual friend.
Schmidt had been out of prison for two weeks before the attack happened after serving nine years for a burglary and grand theft conviction.
