LEAD, S.D. (AP) — The Lead-Deadwood School District is taking a close look at the future of its busing program.
The Black Hills Pioneer reports (http://bit.ly/1WvMxLR ) that the district has an aging group of bus drivers and a shrinking pool of qualified candidates to replace them.
Superintendent Dan Leikvold says the district likely will consider contracting out for drivers, buses, or both. A task force that is being formed also will study bus routes.
About 300 students in the district ride buses.
