OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A judge has thrown out a lawsuit that attempted to overturn criminal convictions against a man for violating a gang injunction that was later ruled illegal by the Utah supreme court.
The Standard-Examiner reports (http://bit.ly/1W0SmT1 ) that due to a missed deadline, a judge dismissed the lawsuit submitted by Daniel Lucero and the American Civil Liberties Union.
The injunction, issued in 2010, made it illegal for Ogden Trece members to meet in public or be out past an 11 p.m. curfew.
The Utah Supreme Court overturned the injunction in 2013.
The lawsuit was filed in October 2014. Lucero was one of about 50 people convicted for violating the injunction.
