CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada Republican Sen. Dean Heller has donated a campaign contribution from Donald Trump to charity as Trump faces strident criticism over comments about immigrants.

Federal Election Commission records show Trump made a $2,000 donation to Heller in March.

Heller spokesman Neal Patel said Wednesday that the senator has already given away the money, and doesn't agree with or condone Trump's viewpoints on immigration. Patel didn't identify the charity.

Real estate mogul and Republican presidential candidate Trump said in a speech June 16 that some Mexican immigrants bring drugs and crime to the U.S., and some are rapists. He's refused to apologize for the remarks.

Several TV networks have responded by refusing to air Trump's Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, and numerous corporations have cut off business deals with him.
