LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman has won re-election.

Voters went to polls Tuesday to decide if the wife of former mayor and attorney Oscar Goodman should be re-elected to another four-year term or if her challenger on the City Council, Stavros Anthony, should take the top spot.

Four people were running for mayor. Goodman received 55 percent of the vote, avoiding a runoff, which occurs when a candidate fails to get 50 percent of the vote plus one.

In Las Vegas City Council races, Ward 1's Lois Tarkanian, Ward 3's Bob Coffin and Ward 5's Ricki Y. Barlow each won.
