SALT LAKE CITY — KitchenAid stand mixers are one of those things that never really change. Your mom probably had one. Your grandma probably had the same exact one. But after more than 70 years, KitchenAid has finally released its first major upgrade. They're calling it the Artesian Plus. KSL Lifestyle Contributor Maddy Tolman shared everything you need to know about it. The biggest improvement is control. It now has 11 speeds, including a half speed setting so you can gently fold in ingredients like chocolate chips or whipped egg whites without over mixing. There's also a soft start feature, which means no more powdered sugar explosions the second you turn it on. Tolman's favorite upgrade is the built in bowl light. It sounds small, but being able to actually see your batter or dough as it mixes is a total game changer. It still has that classic KitchenAid look just smarter, more precise and a lot easier to use.
