NEW YORK (AP) — The Subway sandwich chain is suspending its relationship with Jared Fogle due an investigation involving the chain's spokesman.
A statement from the Milford, Connecticut-based company says Fogle continues to cooperate with authorities and that he expects "no actions to be forthcoming." It says both sides agreed suspending the relationship was "the appropriate step to take."
The statement comes after Fogle's home was raided earlier Tuesday by federal and state authorities. The FBI hasn't detailed the nature of the probe but Subway says it believes the news to be tied to a previous investigation of Fogle's foundation. In May, the foundation's former executive director, Russell Taylor, was arrested on child pornography charges.
Fogle became a Subway spokesman after losing 245 pounds by regularly eating Subway sandwiches.
