NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Mar 11, 2014--Independent investment management firm Gerstein Fisher announced that it has hired Ronnie R. Shah, PhD, CFA as its Senior Director of Research. Dr. Shah will shape and help to implement the research agenda that drives Gerstein Fisher’s Multi-Factor ® investment strategies, working with both the firm’s internal research team and academics affiliated with the Gerstein Fisher Research Center.

Dr. Shah brings strong professional and academic credentials to Gerstein Fisher, having most recently worked as a senior researcher at Dimensional Fund Advisors in Austin, TX and as a portfolio manager at BlackRock Inc. in San Francisco, CA, where he was a member of the Scientific Active Equity team. In his past roles, Dr. Shah developed real-world investment solutions for a variety of institutional and financial advisor clients, authored research white papers and led client seminars. Over the course of his career he has covered both domestic and non-US (developed and emerging market) equities.
Dr. Shah received a BS in economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, an MSc in finance and economics from the London School of Economics, and an MA and PhD, both in finance, from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. For his PhD, Dr. Shah studied under Sheridan Titman, professor of Finance at UT Austin’s McCombs School of Business and an Academic Advisor to Gerstein Fisher. Dr. Shah currently serves as an adjunct professor of Finance at the McCombs School of Business. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
