MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — A jury has found Charles Capone guilty of killing his estranged wife and dumping her body in to the Snake River. The body of Rachel Anderson has never been found. A co-defendant last week testified that he witnessed Capone kill Anderson and then helped dispose of her body.
KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) — The Ketchum City Council has approved a resolution requesting state officials use nonlethal methods to manage wolf conflicts with livestock in Blaine County. Council members say guard dogs, strobe lights and electric fencing are preferable to aerial gunning, hunting and trapping. They say killing wolves can hurt tourism and wildlife.
ALBANY, Ga. (AP) — A jury weighing criminal charges against the owner of a Georgia peanut plant blamed for a nationwide salmonella outbreak will decide the case without hearing one fact — that nine people died after eating the company's tainted peanut butter. One of the deaths was in Idaho. Prosecutors say testimony about the deaths would have been distracting for the jury.
SANDPOINT, Idaho (AP) — Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad wants to build a second bridge across Lake Pend Oreille to handle an expected increase in coal and oil trains. The Spokesman-Review reports the railway wants to build another bridge about 50 feet west of the existing bridge that crosses Lake Pend Oreille where it meets the Pend Oreille River.
