SALT LAKE CITY — The popular Quarters Arcade Bar is shuttering its Sugar House location, the business announced in an Instagram post Saturday.
May 31 will mark the closing day for the arcade bar, 1045 E. 2100 South.
"We appreciate everyone who supported us in our second location, but through construction, slow summers, and overpriced rent, we aren't able to keep it going," said the post.
The challenges facing Quarters are far from unique, with construction along 2100 South that has lasted for nearly two-and-a-half years hampering visitation.
The city anticipates completing its 2100 South project by this fall, but businesses have heard it could end by the end of August.
Quarters first opened its Sugar House location in 2022 and still has its downtown location at 5 E. 400 South, which doesn't appear to be going anywhere, with the post declaring "downtown forever."
The post added that the arcade bar is looking to "go out with a bang" and will host pop-ups with local eateries, a Killer Queen tournament, Spar Lake City, and "the same great vibes ... that you'd come to expect from us."
"Come support us and our staff as we transition into our next phase of the chaos that we call life," said the post.
