LAS VEGAS (AP) — The private company behind a speedy airport security screening process says it has arrived at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.
Clear announced Tuesday that it had begun offering its alternative to longer airport security lines in Las Vegas which uses fingerprints and images of a traveler's irises to identify passengers.
To use Clear lanes travelers pay $179 a year. Family can join for $50 and children under 18 are free.
Members still have to remove their shoes and jackets for inspection unless they're also enrolled in TSA Pre.
Clear may sound familiar. The company shut down its airport screening services in 2009.
Operations director Charmaine Taylor says it's now under new ownership and the only thing that remains the same is the name.
Clear is available at 10 airports.
