CLEVELAND (AP) — A chef suspected of fatally shooting two housekeepers at an assisted living facility in suburban Cleveland has been indicted on charges including aggravated murder and felonious assault.
Investigators say Frank Staton admitted shooting the women at Hamlet Village in Chagrin Falls before turning a gun on himself. He was hospitalized in critical condition after the March 24 shootings.
Cuyahoga County online court records list no attorney for Staton, who's scheduled for arraignment April 15.
Police say Staton lived with one of the women. Her ex-husband tells cleveland.com she had told him she was afraid her boyfriend would harm her.
Chagrin Falls Mayor Bill Tomko has suggested the other woman who died was in the wrong place at the wrong time.
No residents at the retirement complex were hurt.
