CHRISTINE McVIE REJOINS FLEETWOOD MAC

NEW YORK (AP) — Christine McVie says the reason she quit Fleetwood Mac in 1998 is because she had a fear of flying. McVie tells Rolling Stone there never was any tension between her and the rest of the band but she realized she was tired of traveling. McVie got a house in the English countryside. Eventually, she got bored. She went to a therapist to conquer her fear of flying, and the therapist asked where she'd like to go. She said Maui. It turns out Mick Fleetwood lives in Maui and was coming to England, so he offered to fly back with her. She says that took the pain out of sitting there on her own. McVie will rejoin Fleetwood Mac for a world tour that starts September 30 in Minneapolis.

CHRIS BROWN SEEKS DISMISSAL

WASHINGTON (AP) — He can't get out of jail. But Chris Brown is trying to get out of his Washington D.C. assault trial. His lawyers have asked a judge to dismiss the misdemeanor assault against the singer, who remains in jail in Los Angeles after being kicked out of a rehab program. Brown's lawyers claim prosecutors misused the grand jury process to prepare for trial. Prosecutors have not yet responded to the motion. Brown and his bodyguard were arrested last October after a man claimed both punched him in the face outside a downtown D.C. hotel. The man's nose was broken. The trial is set for April.

RZA (RIH'-zah) tells Forbes magazine the double album "The Wu -- Once Upon A Time In Shaolin" will be sold in an engraved silver-and-nickel box and that's the only copy. RZA says it will be like "having the scepter of an Egyptian king." The group will first take the album on tour through museums and festivals. Visitors will go through heavy security and will be allowed to listen to the album through headphones. The album will be sold, and the owner is free to release it for a price, release it for free or keep it under wraps forever. RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — GWAR will still hold its annual GWAR-B-Q, despite the death of frontman Oderus Urungus, AKA Dave Brockie. He says the toxicology procedure is standard protocol. Brockie was found dead on Sunday.

FALL OUT BOY ON THE TRIBUTE TO ELTON JOHN'S "YELLOW BRICK ROAD"

NEW YORK (AP) — Fall Out Boys' singer Patrick Stump says it was nice to know that Elton John not only knew about their music — but wanted them on the anniversary tribute to his "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" album, which came out 40 years ago. But Stump says that led to him getting cocky — and asking whether Elton John wanted to be on their album. He says it blew his mind when John said yes — and almost blew the production, since the album was in the mastering stage at the time. They were able to hold things up while John did his tracks, so it all worked out. Others on the remake of the classic album include Miguel and Ed Sheeran.

MILEY CYRUS COURSE BEING OFFERED AT NEW YORK STATE SCHOOL

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — A lot of people got ideas after watching Miley Cyrus twerk her — well, what she twerked off — during the MTV Video Music Awards last year. But not many of those ideas included a college course on the singer. Except for Carolyn Chernoff, a visiting assistant professor at Skidmore College, a private liberal arts college in Saratoga Springs, New York. The course is called "The Sociology of Miley Cyrus: Race, Class, Gender and Media." Chernoff says the class won't teach students how to twerk; she says they'll have to do that on their own time.

''AMERICAN IDOL" SENDS MAJESTY ROSE HOME

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Keith Urban says it was the hardest deliberation the "American Idol" judges had to do, but they chose not to use the save on Majesty Rose. That's in spite of the crowd chanting "save her, save her!" after Rose sang for their consideration again. Urban says it had to be unanimous and by a narrow margin it was not. CJ Harris and Sam Woolf were also in the bottom three.
