SANDY -- The lunch manager at a middle school in Sandy is in jail, accused of having sex with a former student.
The 41-year old woman, Jamie Lynn Greenwood, runs the cafeteria at Eastmont Middle School. Jail documents say she met the boy, who is now 15 or 16 years old, when he was a student here.
According to the probable cause statement, Greenwood and the boy had a sexual relationship from March 2009 to January of this year. The boy reported that Greenwood forced him into the acts and that she threatened to tell his mother and friends what was going on between them.
The statement also says Greenwood bought hundreds of dollars worth of gifts and then said he had to repay her in sexual favors.
Greenwood has worked for the school since September of 2006. The district has put Greenwood on paid administrative leave during the investigation.
"We have certainly not received any of these reports since Canyons School District started oversight of the schools on July 1, so this is the first time," said Jennifer Toomer-Cook of the Canyons School District. "But certainly if anyone suspects anything, they should certainly call the school or call law enforcement."
It's unknown whether the victim was a student at the time of his alleged relationship with Greenwood or if any of their alleged encounters happened in the school.
After her arrest, Greenwood admitted to having sex with the teen on ten different occasions. She said she performed sexual acts on him in her home and in her car.
Greenwood said she knew that what she was doing was wrong, but let it continue.
The case is now in the hands of the district attorney's office. Police say prosecutors are expected to file charges some time soon.
