WEST VALLEY CITY -- Officers arrested two men accused of attacking another man in the middle of a busy intersection Sunday afternoon.
Police say the men got out of their car at 3500 South and Bangerter Highway around 1 p.m. and started beating up another person. One of the men had a crowbar, the other a rock.
Officers saw the fight happening and tried to stop it, but the assailants took off in a car. A witness followed the men to a parking lot where they jumped into a different car.
Eventually police tracked Jesse Barrios and Cesar Gutierrez to a location near 3200 West and 2800 South. The men were arrested on aggravated assault charges, as well as charges of failure to stop at command of a police officer.
Both men were booked into the Salt Lake County Jail. Police also detained a woman for questioning, but she was later released.
