WEST JORDAN -- Five fire departments responded to a house fire in West Jordan Thursday afternoon. It happened near 8900 South and 1100 West.
The fire started in the basement around 2:30 p.m. It spread throughout the home and into the attic.
A mother and her two children were home at the time, but they escaped without injury.
Crews say the home is a complete loss. They plan on being on scene all night to monitor hotspots.
The Red Cross is now working to help the family find temporary shelter.
