VANCOUVER -- Some Utahns were flying high at the Olympics Monday. This second Monday of these 2010 Vancouver winter Olympics was spiced up by men's aerials qualifying across Burrard Inlet.
Up the hill to Cypress Mountain, Park City's "Speedy" Peterson and 2009 world champion Ryan St. Onge led the American charge and will be among the 12 athletes moving on to Thursday's final.
"Speedy" is known for pushing the envelope with his patented "hurricane." He says while he's in it, it feels like he's in a hurricane. He didn't need it to advance Monday night.
