SALT LAKE CITY -- Some Salt Lake City elementary students had a new bedtime story to read Tuesday night.
The students stormed the book selection at Whittier Elementary with excited smiles. The book donation was part of a statewide campaign from the nonprofit Reading Tree.
The organization collects gently-used books and donates them to Title 1 schools, where many students have few or no books in their homes.
"A child who has no access to books has no chance for greatness. We just want to be able to give children the chance to read for fun," said John Barger, executive director of Reading Tree.
Reading Tree has book donation bins in several communities. CLICK HERE to find out where you can donate.
