Press releaseSANDY -- Houston Dynamo announced Tuesday that reigning MLS Cup champion Real Salt Lake will serve as the opponent for the Texas side's home opener at Robertson Stadium on the campus of the University of Houston on Thursday, April 1, 2010. The first of two contests next season between the Western Conference combatants is set for a 7:00 p.m. MT kickoff, with the contest airing live nationwide on ESPN2. Today's announcement of that contest further fills in the beginning of Real Salt Lake's MLS Cup 2009 title defense, which will start on Saturday, March 27, at the San Jose Earthquakes, with kickoff from Buck Shaw Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. set for7:00 p.m. MT.
Real Salt Lake previously announced that the Utah side will open up the home portion of its 2010 MLS slate on Saturday, April 10, when the Claret-and-Cobalt will play host to Seattle Sounders FC at Rio Tinto Stadium for a 7:00 p.m. MT kickoff. Seats for the April 10 home opener in Sandy - which will include the raising of the first-ever championship banner at Rio Tinto Stadium and the issuance of RSL's championship rings - are currently available via one of two options:
• The limited-time "Championship Pack" offer, which includes two North Goal section tickets to the home opener v. Seattle, two North Goal section tickets to either RSL's second or third home contest (opponents TBA), and an RSL mini-ball autographed by the 2009 MLS Cup championship squad, all for just $65. The Championship Pack deal, which offers a savings of $35 off the retail price, is available only through the Holiday season, with the offer expiring on Thursday, Dec. 31.
• The2010 Real Salt Lake Season Ticket package, which includes tickets to the April 10 home opener and all of RSL's other 14 regular season affairs, in addition to five ticket vouchers for exhibition and Cup competitions, including the Utah side's first appearance in the CONCACAF Champions League. Followers of the Claret-and-Cobalt can become an RSL "Fan for Life" for as little as $275, with payment plans available for those fans that want to stretch their dollars during the Holiday season and beyond.

The 2010 MLS Regular Season will again see each team play a 30-game regular season - with each team squaring off against the League's other 15 foes once at home and away - followed by playoffs among eight qualifying teams. The 2010 season begins in exactly 100 days time with MLS First Kick, presented by Dick's Sporting Goods, on Thursday, March 25, when Seattle Sounders FC host Philadelphia Union, in their inaugural MLS game, at Qwest Field (7:30 p.m. MT, ESPN2 / ESPN Deportes). The regular season campaign will conclude Sunday, October 24, followed by the MLS Cup Playoffs, which will culminate in the championship match, MLS Cup 2010, on Sunday, November 21.
