SALT LAKE CITY -- Investigators are looking for a man who set a Salt Lake apartment building on fire Wednesday morning while people were sleeping inside.

Someone went to the Lincoln Apartments at 127 S. 945 East, poured gasoline on the floor and in stairwells and ignited a fire. An alarm activated a fire sprinkler system that put most of the flames out before anyone was injured.

"[It's] more calm now," tenant Kari Mason said. "Hopefully I'll wake up tomorrow to an alarm clock, not a fire alarm."

Police have released a sketch of a man residents saw a couple of hours before the fire. He was carrying a gasoline can and knocking on doors. The man was gone before police arrived.

If you have any information on who the man might be, contact the Salt Lake City Police Department at 801-799-3000.
