SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Michael Cragun has been sworn in as Utah's newest tax commissioner.
Lt. Gov. Gregory Bell administered the oath of office Monday.
Cragun was appointed to the Utah Tax Commission by Gov. Herbert and confirmed by the Utah State Senate in November. He fills the seat vacated by Pam Hendrickson, who served on the commission since 1997.
Cragun served as Herbert's deputy chief of staff when Herbert was the state's lieutenant governor.
Tax commissioners are responsible for ruling on tax appeals, among other things.
