KAYSVILLE -- A 17-year-old girl was killed in a traffic accident Tuesday night.

Investigators say the girl was in a car at the intersection of 200 North and Highway 89 in Kaysville when, for some reason, she made a left-hand turn into oncoming traffic.

"The small white car then spun out of control, was struck by a pickup truck traveling southbound -- which spun the white car an additional time -- and it was hit by a second pickup truck that was southbound on 89 coming through a green light," explained Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Ed Michaud.

UHP hasn't released the girl's name yet.

Two other people were taken to a hospital with injuries that don't appear to be life-threatening.
