MAGNA -- Firefighters are monitoring hot spots following a field fire in Magna.
Unified Fire authorities say they received several calls around midnight from people who saw a flash near Kennecott land at 11601 West and highway 201.
Investigators believe the flash was a transformer blowing up. They think it sent sparks onto dry grass below.
High winds made it difficult to get the flames under control; however, no structures were damaged. There was no immediate estimate on how much land burned.
