(KSL News) An Olympic cauldron is again burning at the Univeristy of Utah.
Opening Ceremonies took place tonight for the 16th Winter Deaflympics.
More than 300 deaf and hearing-impaired athletes from 24 countries are in Utah to compete in skiing, hockey, curling and boarding. Some of the events will be held at the 2002 Olympic venues.
Tonight's ceremony at the Huntsman Center featured the parade and oath of the athletes, flag exchange, and of course, the lighting of the cauldron.
Competition gets underway tomorrow, and medals ceremonies will take place each night at the Steiner Ice Arena. Tickets to the events can be purchased at the Deaflympics headquarters at Little America.
The competition wraps up next Saturday.
