SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Officials say an inmate in the Salt Lake County jail has died.

County Sheriff's Lt. Don Hutson says the death is under investigation but he says it appears drug use played a role.

The woman, 26-year-old Kellee Vee Fetter, was arrested Monday on suspicion of possessing cocaine and heroin and prostitution. She died Tuesday after going into cardiac arrest.

Hutson says Fetter had earlier received medications from the jail for withdrawal symptoms.

The Salt Lake Tribune reported on its Web site Wednesday that Fetter was pronounced dead at St. Mark's Hospital. She had been alone in the cell.
