WEST VALLEY CITY -- Troopers are looking for the driver of a truck who hit and killed a construction worker on Interstate 215, then took off.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the driver was headed south on I-215 near 3300 South around 7:30 Sunday evening. Two workers were standing in a far lane near the shoulder that had been coned off.
Troopers said the truck entered that lane going 40 to 50 miles per hour, struck one of the workers from behind and kept going.
Troopers have identified the victim as 20-year-old Brayden F. Beddoes. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died.
Witnesses said the truck was blue and white -- possibly an older model Dodge. Troopers said it might have experienced significant damage.
